Prior to launching our own business, we both worked for California’s Attorney General Kamala Harris. As members of her executive team our portfolio included statewide criminal justice reform, recidivism reduction, offender reentry and diversion and SMART JUSTICE, a comprehensive statewide criminal justice information sharing initiative. The depth and breadth of our assignments were challenging and consequential.
Not surprisingly, in November 2017 when Kamala Harris was leaving the AG’s office to join the US Senate, we knew we would continue this critical work. Encouraged by Senator Harris – who remains a guiding influence and supportive force for our work - and criminal justice leaders throughout the state, we formed our consultancy. Equipped with legal, strategic management and criminal justice expertise, our consultancy works with foundations, public safety agencies and community-based organizations to strategically address the chronic challenges of criminal justice reform.
